Innovations in healthcare have the faces of people with passion, vision, and the courage to change reality. Read our report from this inspiring event.
On October 21, 2025, the final gala of the 4th edition of the MCSC Hospital Leadership Innovation competition took place at the Kamienica Theatre in Warsaw.
It was an evening full of emotions, inspiring conversations, and breakthrough ideas. On stage were not only technology creators but also hospital directors, representatives of public institutions, and technology partners – all united by a common goal: improving the quality of patient care.
The 4th edition of MCSC stood out not only for its attendance but also for the diversity of projects submitted. Around the Institute of Mother and Child, an ecosystem of co-organizing and partner hospitals was created, and the scope of the competition’s activities was significantly expanded.
The Institute of Mother and Child is a place where medicine constantly pushes the boundaries – from surgeries for newborns with congenital defects to gene therapies and molecular diagnostics.
As emphasized during the gala by Dr. Alicja Karney, Director of IMiD:
“The Institute of Mother and Child is a place where technology meets care. Every day, we see that digitalization is not an end in itself – it is a tool that can support medical staff in making decisions faster and more safely.”
Her words conveyed not only pride in the Institute’s achievements but also a deep conviction that true innovation arises where technology meets empathy.

The Winner that Changes the Game
This year’s winner was Promedheus – an intelligent system for managing hospital operations that not only harmonizes operating room schedules but also significantly improves the efficiency of medical teams.
Why Promedheus?
The system can save up to 75 minutes per day per operating room, increase hospital revenues by 8–12%, and generate annual savings of approximately PLN 350,000 – all without additional resources. The jury appreciated its innovation, scalability, and readiness for implementation.
Awards for the winner:
- Pilots in MCSC co-organizing hospitals
- Cloud credits from OVH Cloud (up to €100,000)
- Legal services package from WKB Lawyers (up to 100 hours)
- Access to the low-code archITekt platform with a dedicated workshop from Vsoft

Mentoring That Opens Doors
In the previous edition, the Board of Directors decided to award selected projects with mentoring support. This year, MCSC ecosystem hospitals continued this tradition.
Projects receiving mentoring benefit from hospital support in terms of expertise and networking, depending on the stage of innovation development. Collaboration in this area is not only recognition of potential but also opens doors to closer cooperation in the future.
Projects under mentoring support:
- Medbase – Institute of Mother and Child, University Clinical Centre in Gdańsk
- Nursee – Bonifraterskie Centrum Medyczne, National Institute of Geriatrics, Rheumatology and Rehabilitation, Pomeranian Hospitals
- Smart Pharma Optimizer – Warmia and Mazury Centre for Lung Diseases in Olsztyn, University Clinical Centre in Gdańsk, University Hospital No. 2 Dr. Jan Biziel in Bydgoszcz
- DyzurApp – Warmia and Mazury Centre for Lung Diseases in Olsztyn, “Mother and Child Health Centre” in Łódź

Partners Supporting Innovators
During the gala, awards from partners were also presented – not just symbolic, but practically supporting project development:
- Fundacja Dzieciom „Zdążyć z pomocą” – Smart Pharma Optimizer (voucher €1,100)
- Consonance – Neurocloud (project consultations worth €2,200)
- MEDmeetsTECH – Cool Cryo (participation in a discussion panel with NFZ representatives during the 20th MEDmeetsTECH Conference)
- InCredibles – Nursee (participation in the mentoring program)
- OVH Cloud – DyzurApp and Exura (cloud credits up to €2,200)
Distinctions that Matter
The Institute of Mother and Child Foundation honored the Exura project for its exceptional social value – a solution that addresses patient needs in an empathetic and practical way, combining technological innovation with care for quality of life. The award was presented by the Foundation’s president, Dr. Dorota Kleszczewska, recognizing projects that create tangible social impact.

The Audience Award went to SphereCyberX from Xopero. The voting took place among the 20 best competition projects and attracted record engagement. Xopero’s victory demonstrates not only the strength of their solution but also growing social awareness of medical innovations.
Symbol of Collaboration – CGM Award
As a gesture of gratitude, organizers presented a statuette to CompuGroup Medical Poland, a Diamond Partner of MCSC, which has long supported the competition. It symbolizes trust, shared mission, and tangible impact on the healthcare system.

Voice of the Public Sector
Representatives from ministries were also present:
- Dr. Tomasz Maciejewski, Deputy Minister of Health and IMiD Director (2012–2025), and initiator of the competition
- Dr. Dariusz Standerski, Deputy Minister of Digitalization
Both emphasized that innovation in medicine is not just about technology – it also involves health policy, digitalization, and systemic support. The modern transformation of healthcare requires not only pioneering solutions but also appropriate legal, financial, and organizational frameworks.
It is the representatives of the public sector – through their decisions, strategies, and programs – who create the space in which innovations can grow and be effectively implemented. Their involvement shows that MCSC is not just a competition, but is increasingly becoming a platform for dialogue between technology creators and decision-makers who have a real impact on shaping the healthcare system in Poland.
“In our daily clinical practice, we rarely notice that we are using AI-based solutions – they have become a natural part of our work” said Minister Maciejewski.
Dr. Dariusz Standerski, Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs, emphasized:
“The Institute of Mother and Child has opened up to innovation, and the Ministry of Health – to cooperation with other sectors. This collaboration has become a key element of the national strategy. Thanks to you, the priorities written in official documents are truly translating into better health for patients.”
“It is only through this cooperation that we can effectively bring innovations to life. And innovation only makes sense when it genuinely serves patients and improves the quality of medical care,” Minister Maciejewski added.
Global health policy representatives, including Joep Lange Institute and CEPI – Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, also attended, highlighting MCSC’s growing international significance.

MCSC Innovation Incubator
During the gala, organizers announced the launch of the MCSC Innovation Incubator, opening a new chapter in the program’s development.
This is the next step, making MCSC Hospital Leadership Innovation not just a competition recognizing the best ideas but also a platform supporting their implementation and commercialization.
Within the Incubator, planned initiatives include:
- Individual mentoring with medical, business, and legal experts
- Workshops and test sessions in hospitals, where startups can test solutions in practice
- Innovation sandbox – a safe pilot environment where science, medicine, and entrepreneurship meet
The Incubator aims to become a collaborative space where ideas are transformed into real-world implementations – benefiting patients, hospitals, and the entire healthcare system.
Conclusion
The final gala of the 4th edition of MCSC Hospital Leadership Innovation was not only a competition summary but also a manifesto of what can be achieved when innovators, hospitals, and public institutions work together.
We thank everyone who contributes to this ecosystem – patrons, partners, engaged hospitals, and supporting institutions. Together, we are shaping the future of medicine and healthcare.
We also warmly congratulate the winner and all finalists.
