MCSC chooses 20 Leading Innovations for Hospitals

MCSC Hospital Leadership Innovation has announced the list of 20 projects selected for the next stage of the anniversary fifth edition of the competition. The chosen solutions represent the most important directions in the development of modern hospitals – from artificial intelligence and telemedicine to medical robotics.

Projects were evaluated based on their implementation potential, impact on the quality of care, and level of innovation.

The fifth edition is the largest in the program’s history in terms of ecosystem growth and the number of submissions. This year, applications were received from 15 countries. In addition to projects from Poland – which accounted for the majority of submissions – teams from Ukraine, Estonia, the Netherlands, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Sweden, Finland, the United States, Pakistan, Iran, and Belarus also participated.

Among the selected projects are solutions in the fields of artificial intelligence supporting clinical and administrative work, telemedicine, surgical robotics, diagnostic imaging, neurological rehabilitation, and medical education.

A Modern Hospital Needs Solutions That Work Here and Now

“A modern hospital is not a building; it is a system that must operate efficiently under time pressure, workforce shortages, and growing patient expectations. The solutions we need today are those that relieve staff of tasks that can be automated, provide physicians with better data at the moment of clinical decision-making, and allow patients to feel cared for even beyond the walls of the facility. This year’s submissions show that this transformation is happening—and happening faster than we expected,” says Radosław Nowak, Head of MCSC Hospital Leadership Innovation.

AVROS

AVROS is a platform of robotic assistance systems designed to support medical teams during procedures. The device acts as a “third hand,” holding instruments, cameras, and endoscopes in a stable position, increasing precision and reducing staff workload.

The solution does not replace physicians or perform procedures autonomously; instead, it supports their work by improving ergonomics and reducing fatigue during lengthy procedures. Thanks to its modular design, it can be used across multiple specialties, from surgery to interventional radiology.

be Healthy

be Healthy is a platform that uses artificial intelligence to support clinical decision-making and healthcare management. The system integrates medical, epidemiological, and cost-related data, enabling the identification of high-risk patients, prediction of hospitalizations and readmissions, and analysis of treatment effectiveness.

The solution also supports the detection of irregularities in reimbursement processes. A key feature of the project is its use of Explainable AI mechanisms, allowing users to understand which factors influenced specific recommendations.

CardioFlow AI

CardioFlow AI is a tool that assesses blood flow in coronary arteries based on standard CT scans. The solution uses artificial intelligence and blood flow models to determine whether arterial narrowing actually restricts blood supply to the heart muscle.

As a result, it may reduce the need for invasive diagnostic procedures such as coronary angiography. The project has the potential to improve patient comfort, shorten diagnostic pathways, and reduce treatment costs.

CuraVox

CuraVox is an AI-powered voice agent that supports communication with patients after hospital discharge. The system independently conducts phone and SMS conversations, collecting information about patient well-being, recovery progress, and any health concerns.

The solution automates the follow-up process while providing healthcare professionals with structured data and alerts regarding situations that require attention. This enables healthcare facilities to stay connected with a larger number of patients without increasing staff workload.

ECG Tutor

ECG Tutor is an educational platform designed to teach ECG interpretation. Inspired by language-learning applications, it offers users thousands of real clinical cases along with instant feedback.

The system enables physicians, medical students, and nursing staff to gradually develop their diagnostic skills. The project addresses the need for more effective and practical clinical education.

Empatyzer

Empatyzer is a system that supports the development of communication skills among healthcare professionals. It combines psychometric tools and artificial intelligence to help users adapt their communication style to the needs of patients, families, and colleagues.

The solution assists in preparing for difficult conversations, discussing risks, and delivering unfavorable news. The project aims to improve the quality of relationships in healthcare and reduce conflicts caused by ineffective communication.

Feyenally

Feyenally is developing a mobile application that enables vision screening using a smartphone. The solution employs artificial intelligence algorithms to analyze eye images and assess parameters related to myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism.

As a result, examinations can be performed without specialized equipment or the need to visit an ophthalmologist. The project addresses challenges related to limited access to specialists and growing diagnostic needs.

Manager Online

Manager Online is a platform that supports hospital hygiene management and cleaning operations in healthcare facilities. The solution enables real-time process monitoring, workforce management, quality reporting, and control of material consumption.

By digitizing these processes, hospitals can more effectively supervise compliance with procedures and quickly identify areas requiring improvement. The project supports patient safety and organizational efficiency.

Mentalio

Mentalio is a clinical decision-support system designed for child and adolescent psychiatrists. Before an appointment, patients complete a detailed questionnaire, and physicians receive a structured report containing clinical risk assessments and diagnostic suggestions.

The solution helps organize the interview process, reduces the time required to analyze data, and supports specialist decision-making. The project addresses the growing demand for mental health services for children and adolescents.

NaviFast 6D

NaviFast 6D supports orthopedic surgeons during hip replacement procedures. The system enables precise measurement of limb length changes during surgery, helping surgeons achieve the planned treatment outcome and reduce the risk of complications.

The solution combines dedicated X-ray image analysis software with a miniature measurement device used directly in the operating room.

NeoNutraCalc

NeoNutraCalc is a specialized system that supports the planning, calculation, and documentation of neonatal nutrition, particularly for premature infants requiring intensive medical care.

The solution facilitates collaboration between neonatal units and hospital pharmacies, reduces the risk of errors, and streamlines the preparation of nutritional mixtures.

The system supports workflow organization while leaving therapeutic decisions entirely in the hands of healthcare professionals.

Neures CBF

Neures CBF is an innovative method supporting the treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy by influencing blood flow and oxygenation in specific areas of the brain. The therapy uses a specialized medical suit and is entirely non-invasive.

The solution was developed as a potential alternative to more burdensome treatment methods, such as neurosurgery or the implantation of neuromodulation devices. The project’s goal is to improve treatment effectiveness and the quality of life of patients suffering from epilepsy that does not respond to pharmacological therapy.

Ouli

Ouli is developing a telemedicine system designed for the treatment of post-surgical scars in a home setting. The solution consists of a device that provides mechanical therapy and an application that enables remote supervision by a physiotherapist.

This allows patients to continue rehabilitation outside a medical facility while specialists can continuously monitor progress and adjust therapy plans. The project increases access to rehabilitation services and supports continuity of care.

Poliwater

Poliwater is a modern immobilization dressing that serves as an alternative to traditional plaster casts. The product hardens upon contact with water, is lightweight, waterproof, and provides good skin ventilation.

As a result, it improves patient comfort during the treatment of orthopedic injuries. The solution also allows for customization of the cast’s appearance, which may be particularly beneficial for younger patients.
