Institute of Mother and Child awarded during Medonet Awards 2024 – November 20, 2024

During the 1st Medonet Health Congress, the Medonet Awards 2024 statuettes were presented. The Institute of Mother and Child was recognized in 2 categories.

About the Congress

On November 20, 2024, the 1st Medonet Health Congress was held at the Olympic Center in Warsaw under the slogan “Health won’t wait”. The main theme of the debates concerned the challenges of the modern world that everyone working in the field of health must face.

Among the most pressing problems mentioned were, among others, the aging of society, lifestyle diseases, and climate issues. At the same time, solutions that have emerged with progress and digital transformation were pointed out.

During the Congress, the results of the National Health Test of Poles 2024 were presented. This is the 5th edition of the largest health survey on the Polish internet. This year, almost 153,000 people participated.

Medonet Awards 2024

During the finale of the Medonet Health Congress, awards were presented to individuals and institutions that particularly stand out in their activities in the field of healthcare in Poland.

We are extremely proud that the Grand Prix for overall activities was awarded to the Institute of Mother and Child. Both the commitment and achievements of the Institute’s employees were recognized. It is worth emphasizing that the scientific achievements of IMiD are known not only in Poland but also internationally. Recognition was given to scientific research, service and treatment activities, advisory, educational and publishing activities, as well as involvement in solving the health and social problems of women, children, and adolescents.

The role of IMiD in introducing innovative solutions into the Polish healthcare system was also noted. Examples of such initiatives include the creation of the Department for Artificial Intelligence and Medical Technology Innovation and the initiation of the Mother and Child Startup Challenge competition in 2022.

The award on behalf of the Institute was received by the Director General, Tomasz Maciejewski, MD, PhD, who was also awarded the title of Healthcare Leader.

“He is an outstanding gynecologist, obstetrician, and perinatologist who combines medicine with management and innovation. Prof. Tomasz Maciejewski is the initiator of the AI and Medical Technology Innovation Department, chairman of the NIL IN competition supporting the implementation of innovations in hospitals. Author of numerous publications, expert, and international speaker. His commitment to the development of hospital care and cooperation with startups make him a leader of modern medical care in Poland” – reads the justification.

Role of Mother and Child Startup Challenge

Mother and Child Startup Challenge is one of the initiatives that builds the Institute’s brand in the world of medicine.  Promoting creativity, supporting the development of innovations in the field of women’s and children’s health, opening medical facilities to innovative solutions, and familiarizing healthcare workers with rapidly advancing technological progress are some of the goals we set for ourselves.

The competition promotes valuable projects that can genuinely improve the work of medical and administrative staff in hospitals and positively impact patient comfort and safety.

During the Congress, we could see that MCSC is a true “forge of innovation”. The winner of the 1st edition of our competition – MedApp – was nominated for the Medonet Award 2024 in the “Innovation in Health” category, and this year’s finalist – Semi Robotics – in the “Action for Patients” category. We could also listen to last year’s winners. Representatives from Calmsie were invited to participate in the Congress as panelists.

Participation in the Mother and Child Startup Challenge allows innovators to increase visibility and recognition, which translates into turning vision into reality.
