Difficult-to-heal wounds are a problem for millions of people around the world. The use of Laserobaria 2.0 may be a breakthrough in the treatment of, among others: diabetic foot, postoperative wounds or ulcers. We will be testing the device at the Institute of Mother and Child from 18th of October to 16th of December 2024.
Laserobaria was created by Inventmed. For a full 8 weeks, we will be implementing this innovative device, which is one of the winners of last year’s Mother and Child Startup Challenge competition in the implementation path.
This year, the device has already been tested by two hospitals that are co-organizers of the MCSC competition: the University Clinical Center in Gdańsk and the Provincial Specialist Children’s Hospital in Olsztyn. However, these are not the only centers that have used this method – its positive effects have been confirmed by a number of clinical military hospitals, provincial hospitals and private facilitie.
To perform the examination, disposable sterile overlays are necessary – the cost of their purchase was covered by the Foundation of the Institute of Mother and Child.
About the device
Laserobaria 2.0 is a multifunctional medical device (class IIA) allowing holistic therapy using five factors:
- oxygen at increased pressure,
- ozone,
- magnetic field,
- red light,
- UV light.
The device is used to treat upper and lower limbs. There are three groups of indications for therapy:
- treatment of wounds of various etiologies: burns, frostbite, bedsores, ulcers, purulent infections, postoperative wounds, lymphedema, and also in the case of diabetic foot;
- treatment of osteoarticular diseases: including: in the treatment of delayed bone union, pseudoarthrosis, Sudeck Syndrome, as well as rehabilitation after surgery, joint inflammation, tendon and ligament injuries, etc.;
- pain treatment: phantom pain, neuralgia, neuralgia.
In many cases, the use of Laserobaria allows you to avoid amputation and accelerates the healing of injuries and muscle regeneration.
The therapeutic effects that can be achieved by using the device are enormous.
The use of oxygen at increased pressure promotes tissue regeneration, also has a positive effect on the formation of new blood vessels, reduces inflammation and improves blood supply to the treated area.
Ozone therapy, in turn, has a strong biocidal effect, acting on bacteria, fungi and viruses. It fights infections and prevents their multiplication.
The analgesic effect is achieved by using a variable magnetic field. Additionally, it has bactericidal, anti-inflammatory, regenerative and anti-swelling properties. Stimulates the production of collagen and creatine.
The red light used in the device has a bactericidal and regenerative effect. among others by increasing blood flow and oxygen. UV light (type A) also has a biocidal effect.
