MCSC 3rd Edition Report Now Available – see how real change is happening in Polish hospitals

It is with great pleasure that we present the report summarizing the 3rd edition of the Mother and Child Startup Challenge (MCSC) competition – one of the most important initiatives supporting collaboration between innovators and public healthcare facilities in Poland.

From the very beginning, this program has focused on improving the quality of healthcare by implementing modern technologies, services, and organizational solutions. Today, we proudly present the results of this work – in the form of a comprehensive report that serves not only as a summary but also as a practical guide to the world of medical innovations.

Innovations for health, innovations for patient safety – this is the briefest way to describe the idea behind the Mother and Child Startup Challenge competition. Thank you for such a unique and valuable initiative promoting modern healthcare. I greatly appreciate the opportunity to participate in the competition from the beginning. It is a fascinating experience of jointly discovering true medical diamonds

What will you find in the report?

The report contains over 200 pages of reliable knowledge, practice, and experiences gathered around the collaboration between startups and hospitals. The publication includes, among others:

Summary of the 3rd MCSC edition – what the application, evaluation, and finalist selection process looked like,

Application and implementation statistics, showing the scale of interest and program effectiveness,

Description of implementations from the 2nd edition – including technologies from companies such as Clebre, Laserobaria, Calmsie, and Truscreen

Innovator’s Guide – specific tips for teams wanting to effectively collaborate with hospitals.

The publication also contains texts prepared by partners, patron institutions, and medical facilities – including, among others, the Institute of Mother and Child, UCK in Gdańsk, Pomeranian Hospitals, and the Polish Mother’s Memorial Hospital Research Institute.

Thanks to this, the report becomes not only a tool summarizing the program but a true compendium of knowledge for the medtech environment, hospitals, and decision-makers.

Why was the 3rd edition unique?

The third installment of MCSC brought new records:

  • The highest number of applications to date,
  • a high substantive level of projects,
  • even stronger involvement of public hospitals, which are becoming partners not only for testing but also for further scaling of solutions.

The program is developing not only numerically but, above all, qualitatively, opening the medical environment to new solutions. More and more healthcare units see startups as strategic partners, not just technology suppliers.

Patrons and partners – the strength of the ecosystem

The third edition of MCSC could not have taken place without the support of our Partners, such as:

  • CompuGroup Medical,
  • OVHcloud,
  • PFR Foundation,
  •  WKB Lawyers,
  • Consonance,
  • EIT Health, and others.

We also thank our Honorary Patrons for their trust and appreciation of our work. The involvement of so many institutions clearly shows that innovation in health is a joint effort of the entire sector – public, private, and social.

What’s next? MCSC Hospital Leadership Innovation

It is worth emphasizing that from the 4th edition onwards, the program will continue under a new name: MCSC Hospital Leadership Innovation. The name change underscores the direction of development – even greater emphasis on hospital leadership in the innovation process and building long-term relationships between the medical sector and startups. Join the group of those who are genuinely changing the face of Polish healthcare.
