The jury has selected the 10 most promising startups that have the potential to change the face of medicine.
Out of 20 startups, the jury chose 10 innovators who have advanced to the final stage of the competition. We believe that their projects have the potential to give healthcare a completely new dimension.
Below, we present the TOP 10 of the 3rd edition of the Mother and Child Startup Challenge.
Aptamedica
The startup’s goal is to create a universal analyzer for personalizing complex therapies, including the treatment of sepsis in intensive care units. The analyzer enables quick, inexpensive, and precise determination of sepsis markers and drug concentrations at the patient’s bedside. Additionally, it allows for real-time monitoring of administered drugs, increasing treatment effectiveness and minimizing the risk of serious complications.

EFM
EFM has developed “Mudisocard,” a measurement system that expands ECG diagnostics. This system allows doctors to quickly, comprehensively, and non-invasively assess the condition of the patient’s heart and lungs. Through telemedicine analysis based on proprietary algorithms, the system can immediately detect comorbidities such as COPD or heart failure. “Mudisocard” records three signals from the human body: 3D ECG (vectorcardiography), 3D bioimpedance, and chest auscultation (sound signal).

FunkBIOTICS
FunkBIOTICS has created “KARVADERM,” an antiseptic dressing in the form of a hydrogel membrane. It uses natural substances such as carvacrol and thymol for effective antibacterial protection, and chitosan to stimulate the wound healing process. The product is designed for difficult-to-heal and infected wounds, but can also be used wherever accelerated healing is needed, such as in treating post-operative wounds or in aesthetic medicine.

SynDiag
SynDiag is a FemTech startup founded in 2019 as a spin-off of the Polytechnic University of Turin (Italy). The startup has developed OvAi, software based on artificial intelligence that aids in the early diagnosis of ovarian cancer. It includes OvAi Focus, which is CE-marked (Class I MDD) and detects ovarian cysts in ultrasound videos, and OvAi X, which supports differential diagnosis through a “virtual biopsy.” OvAi X predicts the exact histology class of the tumor, providing essential information for treatment. The device has been clinically validated on 500 cases, showing 79% histology prediction accuracy, 88% sensitivity, and 98% specificity.
